The Accel ViewTIFF installer will automatically detect your plugins folder if you use Mozilla Firefox or Opera.

You can manaually select your SeaMonkey plugins folder using the installer.

The Mozilla ActiveX Plugin was written by Adam Lock of Netscape to add ActiveX support to Mozilla. By default it is configured to work with the Windows Media Player ActiveX control only.

Windows XP users can now use the Windows Media Player 11 plugin instead of the ActiveX plugin for accessing content requiring Windows Media Player.

This plugin can be configured to download and install ActiveX controls, which can be a security risk. This is configured using activex.js.

Only install versions of the ActiveX Plugin that are specifically intended for your browser version, and always remove the ActiveX Plugin (npmozax.dll) before upgrading your browser. SeaMonkey 1.0 users can use the Firefox 1.5 version of the plugin, which seems to work.

The Authorware Player installer will automatically detect your browser's plugins folder and install the plugin.

The Adobe Flash Player installer will automatically detect your browser's plugins folder and install the plugin. There is also an XPI package available.

All users having problems with Firefox 2.0.0.x and Flash are strongly advised to update to Flash Player 9.0r47.

SeaMonkey, Mozilla Firefox and Opera will automatically detect and use the Adobe Reader plugin if it is installed.

Adobe Reader 8.1 requires Windows 2000 or later. If you are using Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, or Windows NT 4.0, you will need to use Adobe Reader 6.0.6. On older versions of Windows you will need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1.

Older versions of Adobe Reader have known security issues. These are fixed in Adobe Reader 8.1, 7.0.9 and 6.0.6. You can use the update tool built in to Adobe Reader to update to the latest version, or download each update and apply them in order.

The Shockwave Player installer will automatically detect your SeaMonkey or Mozilla Firefox plugins folder and install the plugin.

Opera is not detected by the Shockwave Player Installer, however you can manually select your plugins folder.

Shockwave Player 10 requires Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. If you are using a different version of Windows, you will need to use Shockwave Player 8.5.1.

  Mozilla Firefox, Seamonkey and Opera all have native SVG support, and do not require this plugin. For more information about the SVG support in Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and SeaMonkey 1.1, see the SVG in Firefox page. For information about SVG support in Opera 9.0, see the SVG support in Opera 9 page.

  Suport for Adobe SVG viewer will be discontinued on January 1, 2008.

1. Install Adobe SVG Viewer 6.0
2. Copy NPSVG6.dll and NPSVG6.zip to your browser's plugins folder. These files are normally located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins\

The Alambik Viewer installer will automatically detect your browser's plugins folder and install the plugin.

The Alambik Viewer installer does not always detect browser plugins folders, or may install for one browser only if you have several installed. If your browser is not detected, copy NPAlambik.dll to your browser's plugins folder, and nsIAlambikPlugin.xpt to your browser's components folder (not required for Opera). These files are located in the system folder in your Alambik Viewer installation folder.

The Luratech Browser Plugins installer will automatically detect Mozila Firefox and install the plugin. SeaMonkey and Opera are not detected.

If no browsers are detected you will be prompted to browse for a plugins folder. However, if you have multiple browsers and not all are detected, you can install the plugin manually by copying npjp2.dll, npldf32.dll and nplwf32.dll to your plugins folder. You can also use the Fake 4.x procedure if you have several browsers.

The AlternaTIFF installer will automatically detect your Mozilla Firefox or Opera plugins folder and install the plugin. If you are using SeaMonkey, you will have to select your SeaMonkey plugins folder.

The Anark 3D Client is not supported with Mozilla Firefox or SeaMonkey. However, there is a thread on the Anark developer forums about using the Mozilla ActiveX plugin to view Anark 3D content. [More Information...]

 The method of setting up the ActiveX plugin listed in the forum thread is extremely insecure, as it allows any installed ActiveX control to run. Use this method at your own risk!

Start the AutoDesk MapGuide Viewer installer, and manually select your browser's plugins folder.

 This plugin requires the Java Runtime Environment to be installed.

 This configuration is not supported by the vendor, and may behave unexpectedly.

The AXEL Player installer will automatically detect your browser's plugins folder and install the plugin.

1. Prepare a fake installation of Netscape 4.x.
2. Install Beatnik Player as normal. Your browser's plugin scanning will detect the new plugin.

The BS Contact VRML 7.0 installer will automatically detect your Mozila Firefox plugins folder and install the plugin. If Mozilla Firefox is installed on your system and you wish to use this plugin with another browser, copy npBSContact.dll and npbx3d.dll to your browser plugins folder.

If Mozilla Firefox is not installed, you will need to use the Fake 4.x procedure.

The ChemDraw installer will automatically install the browser plugin for the first detected browser, which seems to be in the order of Mozilla 1.x and then Netscape 7.x. Other browsers are not detected. The plugin is not installed unless a Mozilla based browser is detected.

If you need to manually install this plugin, locate and copy npcdp32.dll (Pro) or npcdn32.dll (Net) to your browser's plugins folder, and chemdraw90.xpt to your browser's components folder.

The Citrix ICA Client installer detects Mozilla Firefox, but not SeaMonkey or Opera. The plugin is automatically installed for Mozilla Firefox.

To install the plugin for SeaMonkey or Opera, copy the following files to your browser's plugins folder:

On Windows XP, the WHIP! Viewer installer may report that it can not find Netscape or Internet Explorer. This message is incorrect, and can safely be ignored.

The Windows Genuine Advantage plugin is required for accessing some content in the Microsoft Download Center. The installer will automatically detect your Firefox or Netscape 8.0 plugins folder and install the plugin.

This plugin is only currently supported with Mozilla Firefox on Windows XP systems. Other browsers and operating systems are not supported.

The installer for some older versions of this plugin was broken. This has been fixed, and the plugin works again.

If you wish to use another Gecko based browser, you'll need to extract the contents of the plugin installer, then copy npLegitCheckPlugin.dll to your browser's plugins folder and nsILegitCheckPlugin.xpt to your browser's components folder. You will also have to set a Firefox useragent using the general.useragent.override preference or an extension. This procedure is not supported by Microsoft.

SeaMonkey, Mozilla Firefox and Opera will automatically detect and use versions 7.1 - 9.0 of the Windows Media Player plugin if installed.

The installer for the Windows Media Player 11 browser plugin has a major design flaw!

Installers for Mozilla plugins should place the plugin files in the folder of the application they belong to, and information in the Windows registry so that all Gecko based browsers can locate the plugin. The Windows Media Player 11 plugin installer does not do this.

If Mozilla Firefox is installed, the plugin will be installed to your Mozilla Firefox plugins folder. If Mozilla Firefox is not installed, it will be placed in a \PFiles\Plugins folder on your Windows drive (usually C:).

If you wish to use the Windows Media Player 11 plugin with a browser other than Mozilla Firefox, copy np-mswmp.dll to your browser plugins folder.
