HOWTO: Manual installation of RealPlayer 8.0 (Windows)
This document has been retained because it is of historical interest. Unless you're using Windows 95, or very old hardware, you should really use RealPlayer 10 or later instead.
- Download Realplayer 8.0.
- Start the RealPlayer installer.
- Copy nppl3260.dll to your Mozilla plugins folder and and nppl3260.xpt to your Mozilla components folder. They will be in a a folder with a name such as ~rnsetup in your temporary files folder.
- Install RealPlayer if you do not already have it installed, or close the installer if you do.
Note: This will not work if you use the nsrp8.exe installation package (Included with Netscape distributions). This package runs in unattended setup mode, uses different temporary file locations, and does not detect Mozilla installations. Use the standard RealPlayer 8.0 installation package instead.
