Important Information For K-Meleon Users
Windows Registry Entries
The K-Meleon 0.8 and later installers add registry entries that are required by several plugin installation programs. You do not need to add them by hand.
No XPInstall Support
XPInstall Packages (XPIs) are ZIP files containing plugins, themes or extensions for Mozilla and an installation script. Some browser plugins are distributed as XPI files to make installation easier for Mozilla users.
K-Meleon does not support XPIs. If you're installing a plugin that is distributed in this fashion, please refer to the installation instructions for Opera users.
Plugin Scanning
The following plugin scanning settings are enabled by default in K-Meleon:
- Scan for QuickTime 5.0 or higher
- Scan for Java Runtime Environment 1.3 or higher
- Scan for Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher
- Scan for Windows Media Player 7.1 or higher
Information about disabling these settings is available here.
