Anmerkungen

  1. application/octet-stream sind generische Binärdaten, können also nicht durch ein bestimmtes Programm verarbeitet werden.
  2. Google Video Viewer basiert auf dem VLC Media Player. Beide können zusammen installiert werden.
  3. Auch wenn QuickTime manche Flash-Inhalte darstellen kann, wird es für diesen Einsatzzweck nicht empfohlen. Benutzen Sie lieber den Flash-Player.
  4. Dieser MIME-Typ wird intern verarbeitet. Um dies zu ändern, müssen Sie die plugin.override_internal_types Einstellung in about:config auf true setzen.
  5. Ab Gecko 1.8 (Firefox 1.5, SeaMonkey 1.0). Um dies zu überschreiben, müssen Sie die svg.enabled Einstellung in about:config auf flase setzen.
  6. text/plain is einfacher Text. Dennoch werden Dateien oft unkorrekterweise mit diesem MIME-Typ ausgeliefert. Möglicherweise wird Content-Sniffing auf den nicht-Text Inhalt angewendet, wenn dieser als text/plain ausgeliefert wird. [Details... (en)]
